Second Broadband Data Collection Filing Window Opens January 3, 2023 Broadband Availability Data as of December 31, 2022 Due No Later Than March 1, 2023

Facilities-based broadband data service providers may begin to submit and file broadband availability data in the Broadband Data Collection system beginning January 3, 2023 for location and service data as of December 31, 2022. The Fabric, which is the foundation for fixed broadband data availability, has been updated with additional data sources and improvements for use in this second BDC collection window. As a reminder, the use of the Form 477 has been sunset for voice subscription and availability, but broadband providers must continue to file Form 477 subscribership data and voice service availability data as of the December 31, 2022 in the BDC system.

Information on how to use the BDC system and on who must file and what must be filed can be found at https://www.fcc.gov/BroadbandData/resources (under the “Education” tab), https://www.fcc.gov/BroadbandData/Help, and https://www.fcc.gov/BroadbandData/filers.

The FCC encourages filers to submit data as early as possible in order to provide an opportunity to address any problems with the data in advance of the March 1, 2023 deadline. Failure to timely file may result in enforcement action and penalties.

Please contact Robin Tuttle at [email protected] or Dee Herman at [email protected] if you have any questions about the upcoming BDC filing.
