FCC Announces Start of Fabric Bulk Challenge Process Start Date for Challenge Process: September 12, 2022 FCC Webinar on Challenge Process: September 7, 2022, 2 pm EDT

On September 12, 2022, service providers, governments, and other entities can begin filing bulk challenges to data in the Broadband Serviceable Location (“BSL”) Fabric, which serves as the foundation for the Broadband Data Collection (“BDC”) fixed availability maps. These challenges will help refine the next version of the Fabric, which is expected to be released in December. Following that release the public will be able to view the maps and submit challenges to the Fabric data.

Challenges must include the name and contact of the submitting entity, the Fabric location subject to challenge, the category of the challenge for each location, and evidence supporting the challenge, as well as other data. The FCC has provided more details regarding the data specifications for the bulk challenge data at https://us-fcc.app.box.com/v/bdc-bulk-fabric-challenge-spec, and will host a live-streaming webinar on September 7, 2022, at 2 pm EDT to assist entities that intend to submit bulk challenges. You may also view the webinar on the FCC website at www.fcc.gov/live or on the FCC’s YouTube page at www.youtube.com/FCC. A recording of the webinar will be posted to the FCC’s BDC webpage at www.fcc.gov/BroadbandData.
