Extending PAL Channel Swapping Window

Please note that the SAS administrators have extended the deadline for submitting channel swap requests. You now have until April 13th. Below please find the entire email:

Dear All,
Due to requests from some of the licensees, and to allow handling the optimizations we have recommended to the channel assignments in some counties (and communicated to the licensees last weekend), we have decided to extend the PAL channel swapping window to the CoB 4/13/2021 (PST). As a result of this change, the announcement of final channel assignments (T8) and PAL commercial entablements (T9) are extended by a few days. Specifically, the final channel assignment will be announced 4/16/21, and PAL commercial enablement is planned at the start of the day 4/20/2021.

It is important to note that this timeline will not be extended anymore. However, to allow future swapping opportunities, SAS admins have decided to plan for future pre-planned and pre-announced PAL channel swapping events occurring approximately twice a year. The next PAL channel swapping opportunity will occur around end of September or beginning of October 2021. The exact starting time and duration of PAL channel swapping window will be announced well before that time.

Note: PAL Commercial Enablement may only be performed by Licensees whose PAL licenses are granted by FCC’s Public notices issued by CoB 4/19/2021. Other Licenses may be enabled only when they are granted by FCC, according to timeline coordained by SAS Administrators.

As usual, please do not hesitate to contact us, if there is any question or concern.
Regards,
SAS Administrators
