This is a reminder that non-nationwide CMRS providers must meet increased E911 location accuracy benchmarks based on the deployment of Voice over Long Term Evolution (“VoLTE”).

70% Benchmark Compliance Deadline:  April 3, 2020

Certification of Compliance Due:  June 2, 2020

80% Benchmark Compliance Deadline:  April 3, 2021

Certification of Compliance Due:  June 2, 2021

 

Non-nationwide CMRS providers that have already deployed an operational VoLTE platform in their network (excepting roam only networks at this time) must be able to provide dispatchable location or x/y location within 50 meters for 70 percent of all wireless 911 calls (including VoLTE calls) (“70% Benchmark”) by April 3, 2020. Such CMRS providers must certify to the FCC by June 2, 2020, that they have met this 70% Benchmark, that they have deployed the indoor location technologies tested in the Test Bed, and that they have verified their compliance based on their own live call data.  In addition, these providers must be able to provide dispatchable location or x/y location within 50 meters for 80 percent of all wireless 911 calls (including VoLTE calls) (“80% Benchmark”) by April 3, 2021, and certify compliance with the 80% Benchmark by June 2, 2021.
